Budgie posts selfie from hospital
Legendary drummer Budgie (aka Peter Clarke) gave fans quite a scare on social media yesterday!
Budgie posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed, revealing he was "just out of the ICU" but didn't provide any other info other than to thank fans for their support.
After speculation and fear from fans ramped up online, Budgie's team provided a statement on Facebook confirming Budgie's situation was not dire and was instead just "routine maintenance" and he would be back to work behind the drums in a few days.
View Budgie's picture and team statement below.
"Just a quick note to reassure you that Budgie is absolutely fine and very grateful for all of your messages. This was just a little routine maintenance and he’ll be back behind the drum kit working on new projects in a couple of days. - team Budgie"
Budgie has several projects in the works - he and Lol Tolhurst announced a new project L X B earlier this year. The project is said to channel "the spirit of 1977" and new music is expected before the end of the year. Meanwhile Budgie and Tolhurst are collaborating on a podcast/series tentatively titled The Bleak End (details and premiere date still to be announced).
Most recently Budgie and Tolhurst were among the guests on ReMission International's cover of The Mission's classic anthem "Tower Of Strength." The cover version titled "TOS2020" which includes contributions from Martin Gore, Midge Ure, Gary Numan, was issued digitally in August. The physical edition arrives October 2nd and is available to pre-order here.

I am just out of the ICU, sitting up in bed, drinking fennel tea and nothing appears to be leaking! Thank you all for your kind thoughts 😊 pic.twitter.com/gPpSbKakjo

New Order tease September 8th announcement
New Order have something up their sleeve!
Today New Order posted a teaser suggesting an announcement of some sort will be made on September 8th, which is next Tuesday.
No word on what they'll be unveiling, but perhaps: A song? Album? Remix? Live (or virtual) show? Merchandise? Art print?
Unlikely this will be some sort of reissue news since they've already announced the definitive edition of Power, Corruption, & Lies along with the reissue of the PCL-era non-album singles which arrive in October.
The mystery builds. Stay tuned.
