Tim Burgess, leader of the legendary Manchester band The Charlatans is launching a listening party series on Twitter tomorrow, Monday, March 23rd.
Each weekday night at 10pm (UK time) Burgess will select a different album - the idea is for everyone to press play (whether rocking a physical album/CD/cassette, or using a streaming platform) at the same time and enjoy the music as a community. Burgess will not only live tweet and interact with fans, but he's also invited some of the artists who've made the very records he's showcasing on Twitter. For instance on Friday, March 27th the selected album is Definitely Maybe by Oasis; Liam Gallagher and Bonehead (aka Paul Arthurs) are expected to offer up commentary on the record.
Other guests scheduled to participate include Andy Bell and Loz Colbert from Ride, Dave Rowntree of Blur, and Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand.
The listening parties take place weekday nights starting at 10pm U.K. time which is 6pm ET. Please note, the UK is still currently observing Standard Time and will be "springing forward" to Daylight Saving Time on March 29th, thus after March 29th the listening parties will take place at 5pm ET.
View the schedule for this week's listening parties below and be sure to follow Tim Burgess on Twitter.
Regarding the Definitely Maybe event, please note that Liam hasn't confirmed on Twitter that he'll be participating, however Burgess does have him on the schedule and the two are pretty tight so it seems legit. Last week Liam took a few more swings at Noel to do a one-off Oasis gig, so he'll likely view the listening party as yet another way to stir the pot, as we all know he loves to do.
