New Order's Peel Session from 1982 will be reissued on April 18th on 12" for Record Store Day.
New Order recorded the four tracks for John Peel's show on BBC Radio 1 and were first aired on the program on June 1st, 1982. The first song is a cover of the Keith Hudson reggae jam "Turn The Heater On" which they played as an homage to Ian Curtis because Curtis loved the original. New Order fans may remember that Peter Hook recently resurrected "Turn The Heater On" and "Too Late" (which also appears on the Peel Session) and played them during his live shows with The Light in 2018 -- New Order never played either song live other than during the captured performance for John Peel's show.
New Order performed three Peel Sessions over the years (1981, 1982, 1998); all were issued previously so it's not the first time the sessions have been commercially available.
New Order Peel Sessions 1982 is a Record Day Exclusive and is limited to 7500 copies. For more details on Record Store Day head here.
