Last night the annual Tibet House benefit took place at Carnegie Hall and the legends were out in full force! Bernard Sumner (who has played several previous Tibet benefits), Patti Smith, Debbie Harry, Laurie Anderson, and Philip Glass were among the artists performing live. Glass curated the event as he has done in past years.
Among the highlights: Sumner along with New Order bandmates Tommy Chapman and Phil Cunningham performed "Ceremony," and "Love Vigilantes,"; Debbie Harry and Philip Glass performed an orchestral version of "Heart Of Glass"; and Patti Smith rocked out a few covers including Midnight Oil's "Beds Are Burning" and Neil Young's "After The Gold Rush," and Rolling Stones' "I'm Free" with Lenny Kaye on vocals.
