To the insane delight of fans, Peter Hook along with his band The Light have been performing classic Joy Division and New Order albums in full over the last several years. So far they've performed massively successful and critically acclaimed tours in support/celebration of Unknown Pleasures, Closer, Movement, Power Corruption & Lies, Low Life, Brotherhood, and Substance.
Hooky's latest tour, which kicked off in the U.K. in September, features the legendary bassist performing two more New Order albums live: 1989's electro-Ibiza-groovy Technique and 1993's Republic with an opening set of Joy Division classics. Today Peter Hook & The Light announced plans to bring the tour to North America in 2019. Though we'll have to wait until next autumn, you totally know it will be worth the wait! Hooky and his band always put on a stellar, energetic (not to mention marathon-length) show.
The tour includes a Detroit stop October 31st -- HALLOWEEN -- at St Andrew's Hall. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday, November 9th here.
FYI: Peter Hook recorded his September 28th performance of Technique and Republic at the Electric Ballroom in London. The 3CD live set is available to purchase here.
