Stephen Morris, drummer extraordinaire is releasing a book. Morris has enjoyed a distinguished career as the accomplished drummer for Joy Division and New Order, plus he's played a major role in programming synthesizer and computers for New Order since the 80s. His book Record Play Pause is a part memoir, part oral history, and the 352 page book is filled with his stories, recollection, and dry wry humor. The book will be published in the UK/Europe on February 21st. A North American publishing date is still to be announced. Via Joy Division Central.
Morris is the final surviving member of Joy Division to release a memoir. Peter Hook released Unknown Pleasures: Inside Joy Division in 2013; Bernard Sumner's memoir Chapter and Verse was published in 2015.
Meanwhile the oral history of Joy Division titled This Searing Light, The Sun, And Everything Else: Joy Division - The Oral History will be released in the spring.
