Peter Hook teams up with Manchester Camerata for 'Joy Division Orchestrated'
Peter Hook has announced plans to perform Joy Division classics backed by Manchester Camerata. Peter Hook & Manchester Camerata Present Joy Division Orchestrated takes place July 5th at Royal Albert Hall. Hooky curated the event and serves as executive producer with Tim Crooks onboard as musical director.
Hook previously worked with Manchester Camerata for a series of Hacienda Classical performances over the last few years. The upcoming event at Royal Albert Hall will be dedicated to presenting orchestral workings of Joy Division classics to "pay homage to the band and the spirit which defines their heritage" and will "be presented in a state-of-the-art concert setting with the highest standards of production."
Meanwhile Hook's latest New Order album tour kicks off tonight. He'll perform Technique and Republic in full with a warm up set of Joy Division classics. The North American leg of the tour is expected to take place in 2019
