Peter Hook receiving honorary doctorate + auctioning off personal Joy Division items


A selection of items from Peter Hook's personal archive will be auctioned off in December. Peter Hook: Joy Division Signature Collection includes vintage equipment, demos, pictures, posters, and more. The auction will be held December 8th at 1pm (GMT) through U.K. based Omega Auctions, one of the world's leading auction houses for vinyl and music memorabilia.

Meanwhile, the bass legend will be awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Salford at the institution's graduation ceremony next Thursday, July 19th. Hooky will be recognized for his influence on pop culture and important contribution to "rock music and the history of rock music, after writing three well received books about his life, The Haçienda nightclub and the bands in which he has played."
