The The kicked off their first tour in years last month in the UK. The band requested concertgoers to keep their phones in their pockets and view the show like the old days. For the most part, fans have honored The The's request - perhaps sneaking a quick pic or two, but at least they've refrained from filming the full show or being disruptive and discourteous to the band and other concertgoers.
Royal Albert Hall, which hosted the first of three sold out shows in London, have now uploaded several professionally shot band-sanctioned photos from the June 5th show. View the full incredible set of pictures here.
FYI: As previously reported director Tim Pope was on hand to film the Royal Albert Hall show, though details regarding a future release have not yet been disclosed. Confirmation of the filming was posted on Royal Albert Hall's website ("the whole night was being filmed anyway"), plus Pope himself posted evidence on Twitter:

Meanwhile the band's first authorized biography Long Shadows, High Hopes: The Life and Times of Matt Johnson & The The was released on June 9th.
