Musical luminaries will descend on the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor on July 17th to commemorate what would have been Ron Asheton's 70th birthday. Kim Gordon, J Mascis, Don Fleming, Mike Watt, and Mark Arm are among the musicians scheduled to perform in honor of the co-founder and guitar player of The Stooges. The birthday celebration will also serve as a benefit for the Ron Asheton Foundation, which was established after Asheton's death in hopes of continuing the charity work Asheton was passionate about, especially in providing financial support to musicians and animal welfare.
