Morrissey recently launched a new website Morrissey Central (similar to the now defunct True To You) and has been using the site to apprise fans of all things Morrissey. In his latest posting titled The Secret Of Music, he offered up a few tidbits and insight:
He thanked fans, discussed his recent UK/Mexico tour, and ranked his favorite tour stops. Morrissey selected the March 10th show at London's Palladium as the "most stylishly celebratory" of the tour, but admitted it was hard to rank the shows.
Morrissey confirmed there are plans to release the studio version of "Back On The Chain Gang" this summer barring any drama. According to Morrissey his cover of The Pretenders' classic is slated for an August release "if the wind remains at our backs and in our sails."
Finally, he saved the most bile for Johnny Rogan, the author behind the unauthorized biography Morrissey & Marr: The Severed Alliance. Rogan is reportedly writing another book which has invoked the wrath of Morrissey:
"I believe the unquestionably qualified writer J Rogan is researching yet another book of Morrissey Gossip. He simply hasn’t made enough money from the Smiths/Morrissey; he hasn’t yet extracted enough blood; he hasn’t yet caused enough propulsive sorrow; he hasn’t yet wafted a dead body downriver; he hasn’t yet been congratulated for his inexhaustibly mundane enterprise of gossip; he cannot write and move on, and should you bear a barbaric grudge he shall shortly ring your doorbell in the name of thumbscrew research."
