A new interview with Tony Visconti has been published by Irish Times. The ever-intriguing producer spoke about several iconic musicians he's worked with and about a few projects he has in the pipeline.
Visconti revealed he is still grappling with David Bowie's death:
"I'm still very much in a state of grief...I'm always reminded of him. It hasn't been easy, but playing his music onstage helps."
He also shared a few words about Morrissey, stating that he's proud of the album he produced for Morrissey (2006's Ringleader of the Tormentors) and would love to work with the ex-Smiths frontman again, but alas they have not been in touch:
"He has a knack for pushing people away from him. That's how he lives his life."
Other interesting kernels from the interview: Visconti worked with Perry Farrell on an album that's due out later this year; work just wrapped up on the new album from The Damned which is out in the spring, and he's working on a new album with The Good, The Bad, and The Queen (project featuring Damon Albarn of Blur/Gorillaz, Paul Simonon of The Clash, Simon Tong of The Verve) which he says will be out before 2019.
