Graphic artist, poet, and Mission of Burma collaborator Holly Anderson died December 22nd. She was diagnosed this year with an aggressive cancer which was reportedly 9/11-related; Anderson worked as a volunteer for an emergency relief center at Ground Zero in 2001 for several months after the 9/11 attacks. Anderson was 62 years old.
Anderson created graphics, designed packaging, and penned lyrics for Mission of Burma songs, notably the 1982 post-punk anthem "Mica" which was adapted from a poem she wrote titled "White Story."
