Noel Gallagher appeared on CBS Sunday Morning yesterday in promotion of his new album Who Built The Moon? The outstanding eight minute feature included a overview of Oasis with thoughtful yet probing questions from interviewer Anthony Mason.
Through part of the interview Noel was walking around outside with Mason - it was later revealed they were walking through Manchester. Noel pointed out some of his old hangouts including the legendary record store Sifters, (namedropped in "Shakermaker") and they went inside the old apartment where Noel wrote "Rock N Roll Star" and the bulk of Definitely Maybe.
The subject inevitably turned to the possibility of Oasis reforming and Noel blankly stated "If anyone doubts my resolve, I pity them."
He acknowledged that he could never have succeeded in Oasis without Liam:
"no chance. I wouldn't have gotten anywhere without him and he wouldn't have gotten anywhere without me. Simple as that."
As for if the relationship between Noel and Liam is beyond repair:
"For me it is, yeah. Now we got personal and he kind of brought my wife and kids into it very publicly. And I'm like, if you wanna go there, be prepared to take this shit to the grave. That sounds callous and cold, but that's who I am, I'm afraid."
