Franz Ferdinand announced details behind their fifth studio album today and premiered the first song. Always Ascending was recorded in London and Paris and features more sonic experimentation than previous albums. Leader Alex Kapranos describes the band's new 10 track album as "simultaneously futuristic and naturalistic."

Always Ascending will be released on February 9th and is available to pre-order as a deluxe LP, signed CD, or cassette over at FF's store. It's also available to pre-order digitally through Amazon.
