R.I.P. Dave Rosser of Afghan Whigs

Guitarist Dave Rosser who played with Afghan Whigs, The Gutter Twins, and Twilight Singers has died at the age of 50 from colon cancer. Afghan Whigs broke the news on Facebook this morning:

"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our friend, brother and inspiration. Dave Rosser passed away peacefully last evening surrounded by love. Thank you to all who kept him in their hearts. He is forever in ours."

Last year Afghan Whigs performed two benefit shows to help with Rosser's medical bills. Despite his declining health, Rosser contributed and played on the band's new album In Spades.

Dave Rosser… Your time here was too short but the mark you made is indelible. The people you connected through your friendship and musical gifts will remember you always with love in our hearts. Your kindness, humor, talent, spirit, humility and courage continue to guide and inspire us. Those of us lucky enough to call you a friend are better people for it. Rest in peace. See you again on the other side.
