Manchester North Of England: A Story Of Independent Music Greater Manchester 1977 - 1993 isn't just a celebration of Factory Records and Madchester -- the seven CD set includes a wide array of genres: punk, post-punk, C86, indie pop, electronic, and, of course classics from Factory Records and Madchester. Well known and celebrated acts like Buzzcocks, Magazine, The Fall, Joy Division, New Order, Section 25, A Certain Ratio, Durutti Column, Happy Mondays, The Stone Roses, The Charlatans, Inspiral Carpets, 808 State, Northside, The Chameleons, and Oasis appear here alongside many obscure acts and songs available on CD for the first time.
Note: some acts/labels opted to not be included on the set, so if you're wondering why one of the most influential and important bands of all time isn't on this set, it's because they chose not to be.
