Adam Ant's guitarist and musical director Tom Edwards has died at the age of 41. Adam Ant's Facebook page confirmed the news in a statement, which revealed that Edwards was found unresponsive yesterday afternoon and was rushed to the hospital where he later died. The cause of death is suspected to be heart failure, however an autopsy is planned.
Edwards had been on the road with Adam Ant for the North American leg of the Kings of the Wild Frontier tour, which kicked off this week. Shows scheduled for tonight and tomorrow have been canceled and the tour will resume January 29th in Toronto.
From the official Adam Ant statement:
"On behalf of Adam and his band, we thank all of you for your best wishes and support during this most difficult time, Tom shared his musical gifts with the world and his spirit will live on forever."

Edwards worked and played guitar for many other bands including Fields of the Nephilim, Aztec Camera's Roddy Frame, and Edwyn Collins.
