Temple of the Dog perform classics from The Cure & David Bowie on tour opener

Temple of the Dog kicked off their first ever tour last night in Philadelphia. As Chris Cornell explained previously, Temple of the Dog reunited to do the one thing they never got to do -- "play shows and see what it feels like to be the band that we walked away from 25 years ago." Fans enjoyed the ultimate musical gift last night as Cornell, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, and Matt Cameron triumphantly ripped through a 23 song set filled with their classic songs, plus covers from Mother Love Bone, the Cure, David Bowie, and more. Temple of the Dog play the second of two shows in Philadelphia tonight on their sold out tour. At this point there are no plans for more dates beyond November, though Mike McCready recently told Rolling Stone that "if things go well, there will be more in the future."
