New Order's 'Brotherhood' turns 30
New Order's classic and vastly underrated 1986 album Brotherhood was released 30 years ago today. The album's place in history is commonly overshadowed due to it being sandwiched between two other phenomenal and critically acclaimed albums -- 1985's Low-Life and 1989's Ibiza masterpiece Technique. If Brotherhood manages to get any glory at all, it's usually due to the massive popularity of breakthrough single "Bizarre Love Triangle." While BLT is obviously an iconic song, there are so many other magical and shining moments on Brotherhood! Brotherhood deserves acclaim not only for its massive dancefloor anthem, but for so much more -- it's an album of incredible lyrics, driving (and sometimes spacey) beats, and it boasts one of the best closing tracks ("Every Little Counts") in history.
Spend some time and give some love to New Order's fantastic fourth album.
