Joy Division/New Order drummer Stephen Morris to release memoir

Stephen Morris, legendary drummer of Joy Division and New Order, is working on his memoir. The news was officially revealed this week after publisher Constable announced it had acquired the rights to the book, which is due out in 2018. The Bookseller broke the news reporting that Andreas Campomar will be working alongside Morris to develop the book which, according to Campomar, will be more music-focused than the average run-of-the-mill rock memoir.  Campomar told The Bookseller:

"Part memoir, part visual scrapbook, part aural history, it will be a hybrid memoir in Stephen’s wry and witty voice. It will also explore what it is to be part of a mythologised band and the idea of what you do becoming who you are."

Morris himself confirms the as-of-yet untitled memoir will include recollections of "nearly four decades living a fantastic and, at times traumatic, life creating music in Joy Division and New Order."

Meanwhile Morris' ex-bandmate Peter Hook has authored two memoirs to date; his latest book Substance: Inside New Order will be released October 6th. Meanwhile Bernard Sumner's autobiography Chapter And Verse: New Order, Joy Division and Me was released in 2015.
