Joy Division 'Unknown Pleasures' artwork adapted for Christmas card
Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures artwork has been nicked over the years for a number of things -- Mickey Mouse t-shirts, maps, oven mitts, pasta arrangements, etc. Now comes news that a gold colored version of the iconic artwork will grace the front of a new Christmas card for Oxfam. According to NME, legendary graphic artist Peter Saville donated the artwork which will be used for Oxfam's annual charity Christmas Card. The card will be available starting October 17th. Peter Saville created the original artwork for Unknown Pleasures which was adapted from an pulsar image Stephen Morris saw in the Cambridge Encyclopedia of Astronomy. Watch Saville discuss the iconic artwork below:
