Johnny Marr chose his favorite 13 albums for the Quietus' popular feature Baker's Dozen. Records from Wire, Roxy Music, Magazine, and Velvet Underground were among his Marr's favorites, and he revealed Buzzcocks and their 1978 debut album Another Music In A Different Kitchen was a major influence on the Smiths:

"Buzzcocks made modern guitar music that was appropriately punky but sounded razor-sharp on the radio in the middle of such a load of mainstream nonsense...That, coupled with the aesthetic of the band and the way they did their sleeve artwork and the way they dressed, was a very potent combination.

Buzzcocks influenced The Smiths massively in the way we approached our record sleeves and our choice of independent record company - because of the Buzzcocks we took on a Mancunian DIY ethic, whilst being in the charts."

Check out the full Baker's Dozen feature here.

Marr released a cover of Depeche Mode's "I Feel You" for Record Store Day. Marr's last full length album, Playland, was released last year.
