Dean Wareham has uploaded a handful of early Luna demos from 1991 onto Bandcamp to help raise funds for Terry Tolkin (music executive who signed Luna to Elektra back in the day). Wareham reveals that Tolkin is now faced with a severe illness and mounting medical bills and he'll be donating all the funds from the demos directly to Tolkin:
"Luna (at this early stage Dean Wareham) was signed to Elektra by A&R man Terry Tolkin who had previously worked at Rough Trade, Touch & Go and Caroline Records. Terry now lives in New Orleans and is gravely ill. He is fighting a rare and aggressive virus that has his doctors perplexed, and facing huge medical bills for hospital visits, thrice-weekly dialysis and prescription drug co-pays."
All the tracks from Luna Demos 1991 were recorded after the breakup of Galaxie 500 and before the release of Luna's debut album Lunapark in 1992 (finished versions of all the songs were released on Lunapark). The EP is available to download off Bandcamp for 7 dollars (fans can donate more if they desire). Stream the demo version of "Anesthesia" below and purchase Luna Demos 1991 here.
