In remembrance of the anniversary of Ian Curtis' death, Peter Hook is performing the complete works of Joy Division in Macclesfield, England on May 18th. The So This Is Permanence concert takes place inside the local Christ Church and tickets for the event sold out in only eight minutes. Live Here Now, which has recorded some of Hook's shows in the past, will be recording the entire set (expected to last well over 3 hours), and will release the audio as a three disc set immediately after the show is over. The collection will also be available for fans worldwide as a physical cd and digital download starting May 21st. Proceeds from the release benefit the charities Epilepsy Society and The Churches Conservation Trust.  Pre-order the set here.

Other events are scheduled to take place in Macclesfield on May 18th to pay tribute to Curtis -- prior to the So This Is Permanence concert, legendary Joy Division/New Order photographer Kevin Cummins and journalist John Robb will participate in a discussion about Curtis on the grounds outside the church; additionally an exhibit titled I Remember Nothing featuring Joy Division photographs and art by Martin O’Neill, Joe Cheetham and Nick Oldham will be on display at the local Charles Roe House.  More info on the exhibit is posted here.
