Cure fans in London are in for a sweet treat in December! The Cure announced "a clutch of Christmas shows" today which take place December 21st and December 22nd in London, England at the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo. According to the statement posted on Facebook, fans who attend the shows are in for a night of epic proportions! Read the statement in full below:
"The Cure return to Hammersmith Eventim Apollo for a clutch of Christmas concerts on Sunday 21 and Monday 22 December 2014. The band will be performing a 150 minute show playing songs drawn from their entire 37 year old catalogue including deep cuts, pop songs, fan favourites and surprises galore...
Reprising the role they performed at the same venue 30 years ago each concert will also feature And Also The Trees as support.
These are 'Christmas Specials' not to be missed!!!"
Tickets for the shows go on sale Friday at 8am (London time).
Earlier this year the Cure announced a new studio album was on the way, plus more limited edition releases were in the offing. Though so far those things haven't surfaced, the band recently unveiled a Beatles' cover of "Hello Goodbye" which is included on the upcoming Paul McCartney tribute The Art of McCartney. The standard version of the release also includes covers from Perry Farrell and Chrissie Hynde, while the limited edition vinyl version adds additional covers from Robert Smith and Ian McCulloch. The Art of McCartney arrives November 18th and is available to pre-order here.
