Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds won top honors at the prestigious Ivor Novello awards held today in London. The band's 2013 album, Push The Sky Away, was named best album, beating out Arctic Monkeys and Laura Mvula. According to a report in Gigwise, Nick Cave was on hand to accept the award, which he dedicated to his wife. During his acceptance speech he thanked everyone involved with the record, particularly bandmate Warren Ellis:
"I just want to thank everyone. Warren has written the last album with me and suddenly we are getting this kind of stuff. He taught me how to dispose of three chords and get down to just one chord."
