The Austin Psych Fest kicked off yesterday and it began with an exciting start -- during the Dandy Warhols' set, members of Brian Jonestown Massacre (Anton Newcombe, Joel Gion, and Matt Hollywood) joined them to perform the BJM classic "Oh Lord." It took a couple of tries to get the song going since they hadn't played the song in years, but they got it together and from all accounts, it was a truly amazing live experience.

Check out a couple of excellent photos shot last night here and here. Unfortunately there's isn't great video of the performance, but the audio that has appeared on You Tube is pretty clear.

Here's another video of the performance

Before anyone starts screaming about the 2004 documentary Dig, the Dandy Warhols have said in a few interviews that the documentary wasn't an entirely honest/accurate representation of the relationship between the Dandys and BJM, plus in 2012 Anton Newcombe remixed the Dandy Warhols song "The Autumn Carnival."
