Detroit band Protomartyr returns with the full length album Under Color Of Official Right on April 8th. If you're a fan of dark, gritty, garage, post-punk (think Joy Division or the Fall) this record is highly recommended (as is their 2013 album No Passion, All Technique). Under Color Of Official Right is short and sweet -- the 14 track record clocks in at under 35 minutes -- and is an interesting listen. The songs are all rather cold and dark, yet varied, catchy and at times humorous. Plus the cover art is awesome. Stream Under Color Of Official Right ahead of its release over at NPR, and pre-order on Amazon or iTunes.
FYI: two songs from the album, "Come & See," and "Scum, Rise!" are still available as a free download from Soundcloud.
Don't miss Protomartyr live in Detroit! They are playing PJ's Lager House in Detroit on April 8th for their record release party, and they return to the Lager House June 7th (opening for Parquet Courts).
