Hugh Cornwell is releasing a four song ep on October 22nd to promote his new single, "God Is A Woman." The God Is A Woman EP includes the single, two live tracks and Mariachi Mexteca's version of the Stranglers' classic "Golden Brown" featuring Cornwell on vocals. [More about Mariachi Mexteca can be found at the bottom of this post]. The mariachi version of "Golden Brown" is FANTASTIC--the song lends itself so well to the mariachi guitar stylings, it's almost better than the original Stranglers' version. Almost. The mariachi version has previously been available to stream, however today Cornwell shared the official video which includes the full mastered audio for the first time. Check it out below:

FYI: The mariachi band Mariachi Mexteca is based out of London and is well known in the U.K., especially after they appeared in a series of U.K. television ads for Doritos. The ad below includes a mariachi-ed up version of Human League's "Don't You Want Me, Baby":
