UPDATE: (7/10 @ 8:30 pm) - According to a posting on Peru.com (via Morrissey News and Morrissey Peru), Morrissey's shows scheduled for Brazil have NOT been affected by yesterday's postponement. The shows that are currently still scheduled (at least for now) include:
7/30 - Sao Paulo, Brazil @ Credicard Hall
8/02 - Brasilia, Brazil @ Espaco Iguatemi
8/04 - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil @ Citibank Hall
Morrissey's South American tour has been postponed according to Colors Chile, the promoter of the tour. A statement was posted on Facebook indicating the tour has been postponed due to a food poisoning episode involving members of the band. The statement reports that the band has left Lima and the shows are expected to be rescheduled at a later time. So far an official statement on the matter from Morrissey's publicist has not been released. "ARE DEFERRED CONCERTS MORRISSEY IN SOUTH AMERICA
Because food poisoning suffered in Lima by artist and part of the team that accompanies it, the concerts scheduled for Latin America are postponed. The new dates will be communicated shortly.
A severe food poisoning suffered by the artist and part of his team, which is located in Lima, Peru, from July 1-forced to postpone all scheduled presentations by Morrissey in South America.
Medically indicated, those affected have remained at rest and observation. For increased safety and confidence in the evolution of his health, the artist traveled to England to be controlled by their personal physicians
The representatives of the artist, as he personally, feel very sorry for this episode. Morrissey and his musicians were very excited about this comeback and so he saw every day that has remained in Lima, where he could share with his fans very closely.
This unfortunate situation experienced by British musician, forced to postpone the dates of the concerts in Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
International production has decided to give a new date for this tour, information that will be delivered as soon as possible.
The return of the tickets will be in accordance with the statement delivered each sale systems in different countries.
Those who maintain an intention to hold the new dates for this tour will, retain their tickets, which will be updated in due course.
Regarding the free concert in Chile at the Movistar Arena, the lottery process and swap tickets normally continue waiting for the new date."
