The Smiths: Not Like Any Other Love

Yesterday marked the 30th anniversary of the Smiths - the band released their debut single, "Hand In Glove," on May 13, 1983. To mark the milestone, over the weekend the BBC aired a 30 minute special titled The Smiths: Not Like Any Other Love. The program features performance clips and interviews with the band, plus commentary from musicians, artists, designers, poets and more (Noel Gallagher provides some entertaining moments).  Watch the program below, courtesy of HipsterDisco



Meanwhile, a 2008 documentary examining the Smiths' 1986 album The Queen Is Dead has surfaced (in part) on You Tube.

The Smiths: The Queen Is Dead - A Classic Album Under Review features interviews with the band and key players like Tony Wilson and Stephen Street, plus some rare footage and performances are included.
