The Cure are currently on tour in South America and according to fan reports, the band were involved in some drama in Brazil before flying into Paraguay last night.  The Cure flew into the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport in Asunción via private jet, and some time prior they were allegedly robbed nearby on the street in Sao Paulo. Details on the incident are sketchy but a few fan tweets are posted below.

UPDATE (7:20 pm): A few hours ago the Cure held a press conference in Paraguay to help promote their April 9th show in Asunción.  During the event, they were asked about the incident in Sao Paulo, and though they didn't share too many details, Robert Smith revealed he and Reeves Gabrels weren't involved in the "colorful incident" because they had traveled separately.  Simon Gallup, Roger O'Donnell, and Jason Cooper were involved, but according to the band, it wasn't an assault:

"We weren't assaulted...there was an attempt to steal from us but it didn't change our opinion or love for Brazil"

Check out the comments made at the press conference below:

Pictures of the Cure's safe arrival to Paraguay and a short news article on the upcoming April 9th show is posted here and translated version here.  The Cure have the night off to rest/recuperate, but perform at Jockey Club in Asunción tomorrow evening.

Translation: "The guard # theCure says a band member was assaulted in Sao Paulo by motochorros. They prefer not to go out for Asuncion: ("
