A Strummerville Foundation benefit and Joe Strummer/Clash tribute took place at the Bowery in New York City on January 29th. The evening was hosted by MTV's Matt Pinfield and featured performances from members of Bad Brains, Gaslight Anthem, The Hold Steady, CroMags, and more. Money raised from the event goes to the Strummerville Foundation, an non-profit independent organization set up in 2003 (the year after Strummer's death) which helps support emerging artists.
