Last Sunday during My Bloody Valentine's show in London, Kevin Shields was asked by the crowd when fans could expect the LONG awaited follow up to 1991's Loveless. Shields told the crowd "two to three days," which means the album should have dropped by now. It probably comes as no surprise to hardcore fans that the album still hasn't surfaced - Kevin Shields and My Bloody Valentine have a long history of disappointing fans.
Still, we wait, and we hope, because we just can't help ourselves. The longing and anticipation is at an all time high (hell, even Forbes is writing about the new album) because at the very least we know they've at least written one new song, and there are several tour dates lined up for the coming months. IT HAS TO BE COMING SOON!
Never fear, the one solitary clue that the album MAY be out sooner than later is now the band's new official site displays a brand new error message (which is not the same message it sported yesterday), so it appears someone is busy constructing something over there. Perhaps we are getting close?
For the time being, console yourself with the Atlantic Wire's article 'My Bloody Valentine - A Timeline Of Broken Promises,' and have a laugh with fellow MBV fans who have taken to Twitter to share their frustration through comedy.
The world is waiting, Kevin. Your move.
Hypothetically, if I were to tell everyone that the new #MBV record doesn't actually exist, do you think they'd be angry? #hypothetically
