More bad news for Morrissey fans in North America - his recent health issues have forced the postponement of five additional shows on the ill-fated North American tour. Like the previously postponed shows, the five Texas dates (scheduled February 12 through February 18) are expected to be rescheduled and fans are encouraged to hold onto their tickets. The tour is now scheduled to resume in Denver on February 21st. Read the full press statement issued by Morrissey's publicist here and take a look at the full tour itinerary below along with a full Smiths' concert from 1984 filmed in Hamburg, Germany!
Meanwhile, earlier in the week Parlophone announced the reissue of Morrissey's 1991 album Kill Uncle plus a 7" picture disc (also on digital and CD formats) for "the Last of the Famous International Playboys" on April 8th. The single's sleeve was to include a rare picture of Morrissey and David Bowie shot in 1992, however Bowie was not amused and contacted EMI lawyers who have put the kibosh on the photo's inclusion. As True To You reveals, Bowie had no rights to the photo, however Bowie's back catalog is on EMI and Parlophone is part of the EMI Group, so the label pressure was too great to overcome.
Send some healing thoughts Morrissey's way!
