Johnny Marr returns today with his debut solo album The Messenger. Marr has been doing a lot of press to promote the album, and several interviews have been published over the past couple of weeks. An excellent video interview with Marr was recently uploaded - the interview was conducted by music journalist John Dolan for Noisey's series The British Masters. Dolan's interview is enjoyable to watch because he's old school, knows his music history, and perfectly balances being a big fan with not letting it get in the way of the interview.
Dig in to the awesome interview below - Marr told some great stories (especially the one about when the Smiths went to see Van Halen!) and Dolan got in a great question near the end about when fans can expect a Matt Johnson/Johnny Marr reunion, plus got Marr to reveal his favorite Smiths' song is "Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me."
Two other interviews from Noisey's series The British Masters are posted below - watch an interview with Bryan Ferry and Gary Numan.
