New York artist Derrick Cruz recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for a piece of art he created as a tribute to Ian Curtis. The sculpture*, Digital 18:05:80, is a minimalist cold cast porcelain block of Curtis' face and according to Cruz, was intended to "pay homage to the monolithic impact of the late Ian Curtis." The sculpture itself is complete, but Cruz needs financial backing for the casting and supplies. Take a look at the sculpture in the short video below:
The pledge goal for Digital 18:05:80 has been met, which means the project will be fully funded on March 2nd, but anyone interested in contributing can still take advantage of the pledge incentives here.
