Bernard Sumner joins the Killers onstage in Manchester

The Killers performed make-up dates in Manchester on February 17th and 18th at Manchester Arena (the shows had originally been scheduled for last November, but Brandon Flowers developed laryngitis and couldn't perform). During both shows the Killers paid tribute to Manchester Musical Royalty - during the February 17th show the Killers played a cover of Joy Division's "Shadowplay" and the Smiths' classic "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out," and during last night's show they performed a cover of Oasis' "Don't Look Back In Anger," plus they invited Bernard Sumner from New Order onstage to perform the song "Crystal." Before Sumner came on stage, Flowers introduced Sumner and explained to the crowd that the Killers named themselves after watching New Order's video for "Crystal" (the drum kit in the video has "the Killers" displayed on it).

Take a look at fan filmed video below, including Flowers' awesome Bernard Sumner intro ("the sheriff of Manchester"):

"Crystal" (with Bernard Sumner, February 18th)

"Don't Look Back In Anger" (February 18th)

"There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" (February 17th)

"Shadowplay" (February 17th)

FYI, this isn't the first time Bernard Sumner and Brandon Flowers performed "Crystal" together - New Order invited Flowers onstage to perform "Crystal" at T in the Park in 2005 (in happier, Hookier times)
