The Madchester Guitar auction on Ebay ended yesterday. The guitar, which was signed by Manchester music royalty (including members of the Stone Roses, Smiths, Oasis, Charlatans, Chameleons, and more), fetched
6,600 British pounds - over 10 thousand U.S. dollars! The auction was organized by
Adam Masters, who came up with the idea to raise funds after the death of his friend's newborn baby. Masters spent almost two years contacting bands and obtaining signatures, and he did a fantastic job! Proceeds from the auction of the "Madchester" guitar will be donated to Clair House Children's Hospice in Liverpool and Francis House Children's Hospice in Manchester.
