A documentary on the Stone Roses by filmmaker Shane Meadows is in the works and is expected to be released in the spring. The still untitled film focuses on the band's reunion and was mostly shot during live gigs over the summer. Mark Herbert from Warp Films revealed to BBC Radio 6 that the Stone Roses are going to be given a rough draft of the project in December, and once the project is complete, it'll be shown in theaters before landing on DVD. Take a listen to Herbert's short update below:
The Stone Roses continue their tour in March with a handful of dates in Australia. More dates are expected to be announced soon (fingers crossed for North American dates!) and a new LP is most likely coming sometime in 2013.
Meanwhile, Ian Brown is releasing a limited edition career spanning boxset on December 3rd. Collected includes 10 CDs (all eight of Brown's officially released albums, and two extra discs with b-sides and remixes), a 12" LP with previously unreleased tracks, a DVD with promo videos, 60 page hard back book with photos and artwork, and a silkscreen print.
