This year marks the 25th anniversary of the split of the Smiths. Johnny Rogan's best-selling book about the split, Morrissey & Marr: The Severed Alliance, was recently updated and given a 20th anniversary makeover. The Quietus has featured the book on their site this week and posted the text of a full chapter on their website. Read the chapter, Unhappy Birthday, here, and purchase a copy of Morrissey & Marr: The Severed Alliance through Omnibus Press or Amazon U.K. In the U.S. the book is currently only available for e-readers, but it will see a physical release in October. Copies of the original pressing from 1992/1993 are still floating around but command BIG bucks.
