U.K. tabloid the Sun is reporting Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye are performing the Oasis classic "Wonderwall" at the London Olympic closing ceremonies. According to the Sun, a source from the Olympics wanted something, "quintessentially British--a real flag waving, singalong moment to show the rest of the world what this country has produced. Oasis were exactly that and, whether it's Noel or his brother Liam, they just wanted a bit of rock n roll in there."
The Sun's report also claims that Olympic organizers originally wanted Noel Gallagher to perform "Wonderwall," but he declined. This is a fact that seemingly hasn't gone unnoticed by Liam. Perhaps that's the reason for the snarkalicious tweet he sent out last night:
