Smiths' fans may be interested in a new one-woman theatrical production making the rounds in the U.K. this month. Unhappy Birthday stars uber-Smiths' fan Amy Lame. The plot centers around Lame's birthday party that quickly turns unhappy after one of the invited guests--Morrissey--doesn't show up to the gala. His absence prompts a discussion of Lame's awkward formative years growing up, her experience being a Morrissey/Smiths fan, and a discussion of fan/celebrity relationships in general.
Unhappy Birthday opened in London's Camden People's Theater last week and will tour the U.K. through the end of June. To find out more about the production visit Lame's official website.
