Happy Mondays are poised to return to the stage this spring for live shows, but without Bez. Bez confirmed to Mojo Magazine (via
Contact Music) that he'll be attending the shows on the tour and will be doing some DJ'ing, but he won't be dancing around the stage playing the maracas like days of yore. He told Mojo:
"It's me whole pelvic-leg region that's given up the chase. I'm a 50 year old man. The most I can do these days ona night out is wobble on the spot. Some things are best left to memories."
I'm sure the reunion won't be QUITE the same without Bez, but the show must go on. The band will be kicking off their tour with Inspiral Carpets in May, plus they'll be doing some festival gigs later this summer. No North American dates have been announced.
