Robert Smith wrote a post on the Cure's official website after finding a guitar he signed selling on Ebay for $1500. He seemed mostly annoyed about the crap quality of the guitar:

PLEASE!
$1,500 FOR A JUNK SHOP GUITAR ON EBAY JUST BECAUSE I SCRAWLED ON IT?

FFS!

PLEASE DONT BUY THIS JUNK!

IF YOU WANT A GUITAR - BUY AN ULTRACURE!

FOR WHAT ITS WORTH MY SIGNATURE IS ON THE TOP ALREADY…

(SO WHAT IF IT'S PRINTED ON? SO WHAT?!!)
Smith goes on to suggest if you want a guitar he signed to go ahead and buy this one instead because it's a better guitar, plus proceeds go to Amnesty International.
