The Smiths' classic track "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want" has been covered for a John Lewis Christmas ad in the U.K. Watch the ad below:



The Smiths have received criticism over allowing the song to be covered for an ad, and now Johnny Marr has responded to critics via Twitter: "Writing Please Please one Friday in 84 is one of the best memories of my life. This ad has not sullied that memory one bit." (Bonus points for working "sullied" into a Tweet, btw).
